Abstract work isn't something that I all that often, but it's what got me back into painting after years of not painting. It's a way to express myself without trying to hard to make it look like anything in particular. Most of my abstract work is inspired by jewelry pieces from my favorite fair-trade jewelry company, Noonday Collection. Others are inspired by random instances of synesthesia. Sometimes songs and smells are incredibly colorful and they must be painted. It's not something that happens to me often, since I don't spend as much time focusing on it because if every song brought out colors, I think I'd go crazy. But everyone in awhile I let my brain be completely immersed in a song and it's colors.
